Because of you, the love of my life, Rufio will live forever. Your portrait of him graces my wall so I can look at your wonderful interpretation of him every day. As we all know, they cannot stay with us forever, so we love them unconditionally while they are here and hold their memories close when they must leave us. But I will always have the beautiful portrait of Rufio to remind me how lucky I was to know the true meaning of love.

I discovered MYPAWPORTRAIT (and dyanna) through facebook, while searching for a future portrait artist to immortalise my dogs for me. At the time I "Found" her there was this Halloween contest : ) I had NEVER dressed my dogs in anything, not even a simple bandana, lol... and here I set out to win myself a portrait.. first with one costume, then discovering she allowed THREE each... and then.. oh my poor doggies.. she upped it to SIX costumes per dog. lolololol. I will certainly never forget this halloween.. or MYPAWPORTRAIT!!! I have not one, but three fabulous drawings now... among my prized possessions. The photo I am posting now is to show that there is more to my babies than dress-up. THis is Timmy the showdog. (he also has hunting titles and obed titles)...

Where do I begin? With Rory of course! Rory is my Irish setter. My pride and joy. My heart dog. My dream come true dog. And being all that I love to show him off. I want everyone to see how beautiful he is and how very proud I am of him! What better way than to take lots and lots of photos and enter him in contests here and there.
Earlier this year I began doing just that. Photos of my Rory have won a few contests here and there. But one eludes me. I am still trying to find the right photo to win a Paw Portrait of Rory. Because of your contests I pay more attention to the details in my photos of Rory. All the time thinking how it might look in a painting. The expressions on his face. The pose and the outfit if a costume is asked for. The colors in the background and any props that can also enhance the photo.
Why is winning one of your contests of a portrait so important to me you ask? Taking photos and entering contests is about the only way I can afford something as wonderful as an original portrait. And what better way to show the world what a special dog Rory is!
Rory came to me at a low point in my life. After loosing my Mom, my best friend, I needed a new focus in my life. My brother saw this and insisted I get another dog. (I had lost my 13 year old Irish setter, Maggie, the year before I lost my Mom.) A number of months later while attending a local dog show I saw a litter of Irish setter puppies. It was fate. Five days later an eleven week old Rory came home with me. A little more than two years later he has fulfilled a life long dream of mine. He is officially an AKC Champion! And I showed him myself! Not an easy task since I am not as young as I was 30 years ago when I first tried showing dogs. Rory is a natural ham and loves posing for the camera. Not a week goes by that we aren't doing something silly or serious for the camera.
Each time I take out the camera I am hoping that I get the perfect photo that will make the perfect Paw Portrait. I may not have gotten it yet but will keep trying. And with the encouragement and incentives of contests from Paw Portrait I hope the day of that perfect photo that says "Paint ME!" will come one day soon.
Happy Second Anniversary to you Paw Portrait and many many more.
Or at least until you paint Rory's portrait. (Just kidding. LOL)
The photos attached here are from this past weekend. A perfect fall afternoon for playing in the colorful Autumn leaves. I hope you like them.

There are many reasons why I love My Paw Portrait. One is, I get to "mingle" with other people who love their pets as much as I love my dogs. It is a place where we can go to show off our beloved pets and have people see the Family that we are so proud of. Of course, we all think ours are the cutest and I love that too, because, they are, to us. I love the contests and when I go on and see all of the other pictures, it makes me smile so much. I love it! This past July, I lost the canine love of my life, Jazz, to cancer. She was twelve years old and got a bad deal with the terrible cancer that was eating her alive. I miss her still. I received the attached picture of Jazz and immediately burst into tears. Her likeness was so real that I thought my real dog was staring at me. She is framed now and I love to look at her picture every day. I still have my Lilly and now she has two new sisters, Hope and Faith and I will lovingly post pictures of them as well, when I can get them to stand still. I love how Dyanna brings a pet to life and seeing the side by sides of pictures to portraits is truly amazing. I am in awe. I am not even 1/4 as talented at anything. It is inspiring. And the last thing that I love about MPP is Dyanna. Dyanna, you are a true, loving person with a genuine, genuine heart and I am thankful that the Girls and I found your website. Congratulations on your Anniversary!!!

I did a lot of research before choosing an artist to paint my dogs. Finding Dyanna and My Paw Portrait was truly a gift.
Her first painting for us was a portrait I actually won during one of her contests. The portrait she did of Walter is absolutely beautiful. I don’t think his personality could have been portrayed any better and I admire the skill in which it was done every time I look at it.
I then very randomly answered a few trivia questions on her website and earned a discounted portrait. This time she did one of our dog, Jack… protruding tongue and all . It again could not have been a better capturing of our Jack’s goofy, but reserved personality. And it compliments Walter’s portrait perfectly.
Since then we have commissioned two additional portraits and can’t wait to see them!
I am inspired by Dyanna’s work, as well as her willingness to be so incredibly gracious. She is very supportive of animal welfare organizations, including those involved with pit bulls, which are very close to my heart. She has been beyond generous to fans of My Paw Portrait and I admire that so much.
Thank you, Dyanna, for the work you are doing. The constructive way you communicate on your page and with your fans is remarkable. I check it daily as I know there will always be something happy and positive to see. I hope that there will be many more anniversaries to come!

:) I Stumbled across Dyanna through a friends page and I am so glad that I found her!
I love the way she is able to keep everything positive in this world that everyday seems to get a little worse :) She has an amazing skill and I can't wait for the day she is able to paint my Victor. I love seeing the updates from her page, I always have a smile while reading them.
She has helped me to see the Love that others can carry for their Pets and it has helped me to Love Victor, Lilly and All my Furbabies at the Rainbow Bridge even more(if that is possible). She is a True Artist and Captures the AMAZING Soul of the Subject she is painting, even if she only has a picture to go on! I am so Happy I found her and One Day I will have a piece of her Artwork in my home!!!
Thanks so Much Dyanna!! I could not appreciate what you do more!! You make the Pet World that much better!!

I have not yet been able to purchase one of your beautiful art pieces but I still benefit from what you do every day. I first heard of you when my friend had gotten a picture from a contest and posted it on her wall on Facebook. I immediately fell in love with your work and decided to find your page. I love spending the time just to look at all your pieces and to hear all the lovely things people have to say about your work. Whenever I have a bad day at work or am just feeling a little down I know just where to go to get some chearing up! Seeing animals painted so beautifully and to their likeness just puts a smile on my face and makes me forget why i was upset in the first place. One day I hope to have one of these paintings on my wall so that hopefully whoever comes to visit will have the same smile that I get when I see your art.

My Name is Stella and I am a much Loved Miniature Schnauzer. Momma first saw on FaceBook Beautiful Portraits of some of mines furiendz .She was very intrigued and discovered they were all painted by the talented Dyanna of My Paw Portrait. She loved so muches looking at all the fabulous paintings of all the dogs and cats... She dreamed of having my Portrait done one day...That day came and now we proudly hang my Portrait, of Me, Miss Stella Schnauzer in the front hallway for all to see and admire! Eberytime she looks at it she smiles and thinks of me(but then, when does she not think ob me?) Dyanna captured my spirit, my essence, my true self in herz Beeyoutifuls Painting. Momma is so glad to have me fureber immortalized and captured "in da moment"

I had seen other fb friends who had their portrait previously done by MPP and I thought how georgous they were and how did the artist capture thier true personalities and the use of colours to highlight their features and background.
Then I saw Stella Schnauzer's portrait who is Rommel's one and only fb true love and fell in love with the portrait myself.
My dogs are like family to me, and to have their personalities captured in a painting and hanging on my walls would bring pleasure and pride to me and everyone who will see and admire such creative work. A talent such as Dyanna has for creating these artworks should be shared to every animal lover all over the world.

Maddi makes me laugh. She does something funny everyday that truly makes me LOL. Maddi has brought much joy to me since my previous two Goldens died from cancer. She is such a mix of both of their personalities and I feel blessed to now share my life with Maddi, my 3rd Golden. Loving dogs is easy. Loving their memories is easy too when you have special pictures and gifts that bring back happy times. MPP has been the first to do a picture of Maddi. And it's such a fun pose that will continue to make me smile and laugh for a long time. It was quite a surprise being picked for a complimentary ink portrait! Your generosity, talent, attention to detail make for a wonderful gift to others. There are truly good people out there! You, Dyanna, are living proof of what makes life special. Thank you for everything! And Maddi thanks you for drawing such a wonderful portrait of her! :)
